VDJ 8 Build 2325.996 Olds'Kool skin
The YEAR tag does not recognize and write zeros correctly. For example, in the year 2000 a song charted at #1. I write the tag as 0001 (quick reference of the year 20"00" at position #1 "01").
Currently, all I am getting is "1" in the year field instead of the desired "0001".
VDJ 7 writes whatever anyone enters into the YEAR field. VDJ 8 does not. VDJ 8 won't even let me manually edit the YEAR field.
Please give the action back.

Hmmm.... I would say that VDJ 8 is behaving correctly. You're not using the year field as intended.
If VDJ 7 allowed any digits to be entered as a year, that's a flaw.

Try using the user fields1 and 2 for that.
Or even the comment field.
