Topic: Chopped and Screwed :How do i slow down a song more than the crossfader can go? How do you do one button chop?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So basically i am chopping and screwing a song. i have a few questions

How do i slow down a song more than the crossfader can go?

How do you do one button chop/ beatgrid? where i just press one key on the keyboard and it automatically does beat grid without delay.

How do i remove a song from one deck?

also is there any other info that you would know that you can lend me to make my chopping and screwing better?

First of all: Which Version of VirtualDj do you use ?

Crossfader is not for pitching... so please try to use the pitchfaders.
Beatmatching is something that should be done durich prelistenig.
To unload a track from a deck do a rightclick on the stop/pause button for about 1-2 sec.

The newest one - version 8.
Whatever the things called that looks just like the crossfader that changes the pitch. Basically how do i lower BPM while lowering ther pitch also more than the crossfader looking thing
I want to know how to slow down the song more than i already can.
But you still did not directly answer any of my questions

Step #1 read the manual (user guide). It contains important information and instructions on using the software.

Reading this will educate you on what each control is & what function it has. Setting the pitch range (the amount a track can be slowed or sped up) is covered in the manual.

Do not expect instant results on day one. Read the manual and spend time with the software.

Dude.. Since you know all about the manual. How do you do i make one button press on the keyboard to use the beat grid.(Wait Pause) Because i just went go look at it and it says nothing about doing this certain action..
You answered one question but i have more.
It can happen in one day if i get answers to my questions. You really expect people to just press around and just decide whats going on with no prior knowledge on how to work a program like this. This is what the forum is for. To ask questions and get answers.
I also am clicking on the bpm and manually entering a bpm and pressing enter and every button imaginable but its not even changing. So in short iam trying to slow down the song more than the crossfader thing lets me.
Dont jump ahead of my question and suspect why you think i am asking because whatever you think i already tried. I am asking for the reason because i cant do it and whatever i cant do i already searched on google and the forum itself before i even came here and posted this question to begin with ..but there is not much info on Virtual Dj 8. I have read some other questions on here also by using the search bar to try and find what i need and i cant find it and while also looking i have seen you are the most annoying person ever. Stop jumping ahead because you are not as smart as you think you are kiddo.

There you go thinking your smarter than everybody again.
But you turn it around to make it look like iam in the wrong when i proved you wrong because you have no danm clue what you are talking about. So you try makin someone else look insecure about there actions when you are the one in the wrong. just answer my questions or dont write back at all

Maybe you should rewrite your question.
I still don't know what you acutally want to know.

To increase the pitch range you could either do that in options - settings, or by clicking on the percentage value above (or under) the pitch slider.

I am trying to slow down the song by manually entering bpm that i desire ,but when i manually type in the bpm and press enter on my keyboard the song just plays and stops every time i press enter - my song does not slow down. and nothing is happening.

also in the video to the link i post at the end im circling my mouse around the box that says beatgrid - i am wanting to know how can i set beat grid to a certain key on my key board so i can activate it via by pressing keyboard button.

You don't manually enter a BPM to change the tempo of the track. Move the pitch fader up or down.

Mapping things to keyboard keys or controllers needs to be done via the config options. Details in the manual.

For things that may not be in the manual, look at the VDJ wiki pages.

I know that ,but i cant slow down the song anymore than what the pitch fader will let me go?

See manual, page 14.

Ohhh , i get it. The higher the pitch range percent the the much more difference the pitch fader will make when moved?
but thank you , i was looking at the BPM page in the manual thinking that was it because i thought the BPM editor was the key to what i was trying to do.
But thanks for helping me try to decipher this thing dude. Thats why i am here

The BPM editor is not for setting how fast or slow the track plays. It's for correcting any mistakes made by VDJ when it analyses the track for BPM and key.

The lower the pitch % the more fine control you'll have over small adjustments in speed. At max (100%) you can double the speed or even stop it completely.

I wish I had the patience of you groovindj.

"Help me. Help me now. Stop asking for more info and just help me. I can't be bothered to read the manual (all of it!). I'd rather you gave up your free time and help me so I don't have to give up my time to read."

I dont think I'd have been giving up my free time to help

It's not easy sometimes, trying to hold back from what you would actually like to write. :-)
