Topic: .vdjedit files to show instead of the actual linked file

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

In vdj 7, once you linked (for example) an audio file to a video file, you would only see it as one file - a linked audio/video file that is a .vdjedit file. In vdj 8, when you link an audio file to a video file, 2 files are displayed on the browser:- the original file and the vdjedit file.
Can one configure this in vdj8 - that is only the linked vdjedit file is shown?

One of the advanced features of the videoeditor is to keep the original file and the linked file.
You can create a filter folder for you videoedits:
exists = 1 and file type is vdjedit and type=video

Hi RobRoy,

Thanks for your prompt responses.
Based on your example I would like to create a filter that excludes all 'original' files
Original here meaning files that have been linked to video files.
For example my Compatible songs filter is bpmdiff<=9
What can I add to that filter to exclude the original files?

as long as you have not changed the files in any way they will appear and behave like ordinary files.
So i guess you must edit the used files e.g with a hint in the genere field or comment field( like "used for vdjedit" ).
You can create another filter with "group by genere" or "comment contains xxx) and display them.

This is very good idea.
Many thanks for your help!

If you just want to see your .vdjedit files you could create a filter with the following action:

filepath ends with ".vdjedit"
