Topic: Connecting VDJ8 to DAW... Or have a metronome out?

Hi All,

My current lighting controller is a bit rubbish at the sound - light function, so I was wondering (ideally without using usb-dmx software at the minute) if there is a way of connecting VDJ8 to a DAW so I can stream a metronome out to my controller out of one of my soundcards...

I think there used to be support for REWIRE, which I can use to connect Ableton to Reaper (Either of these I can use on my laptop), but I cannot find any support for it at all in VDJ8 - and I only started using VDJ properly last summer so I didn't have a chance to (or need to) experiment with VDJ7...

An alternative could be a metronome out straight from VDJ but I can't find an option for this either...

Anyone know of anything that might help?

Thanks,

VDJ 8 has MIDI clock out, which is nicely hidden away on a right click menu if you select a MIDI interface in the mapping config screen.

To send this to another program on the same computer, you'll need to use a virtual MIDI router i.e. LoopBe) on PC. Macs can route via a util in the OS.

ReWire - to be honest I've not tried it in VDJ 8 but I assume it's still there.
