No, it works in Serato mode and is now natively supported.

If I may ask, how is the SX2 overall and does it play nice with 8? I'm planning on catching a black Friday sale and getting either the SX or SX2.

SX2 Is fine. Mapper is still beta as Atomix haven't received their test unit from Pioneer yet however apart from one small thing to be fixed it's perfect.
Been using it since day 1 with VDJ and although I'm still using my own modified mapper I believe the default one is OK for use. The flip feature isn't supported yet but that's a Serato thing anyway.
