Topic: Is it possible to change the pause/play button to brake/play?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I'm not sure how to re-configure the buttons to enable this. It's an effect, so of course it can be assigned to one of the touch pads but I don't where I can edit the other buttons to change behavior.

Any tips? Hercules RMX 2

map a custom knob on the skin, or a knob on your controller as deck 1 brakespeed & deck 2 brakespeed, adjust the length you wish for the brake and you re done. No effect is required, and no setting to adjust.

Thanks! I have it set to 2.5 seconds for the moment. I read somewhere the 1200 starts up in .7 but I believe from play to full stop is about 3.0. 2.5 sounds close I will keep adjusting.

The other suggestion is exactly what I was looking for. I want to press the play button while the song is playing and it acts like the stop/brake on a 1200, right now it seems good at 2.5 seconds.
 
And is there a way to get the value of brakespeed? It maps perfectly on an endless encoder without parameter multiply, but it's kinda useless when I have no idea what value is set. I've tried using get_text and show_text but no luck.
 
I accidentally set my Play/Pause button to BrakeStart/BrakeStop on my PIONEER DDJ-SB2. I cannot figure out how to make it do that again. I DO NOT WANT ANY ADVICE on how to set it to my effects button. If ANYONE knows how I can set it to my Play/Pause button again, Please let me know. Please explain it step by step please.

How to go back depends on what you did

If you accidentally changed what the play button do, then go into the controller mapping and change "play_pause" button back to action "play_pause"
If you accidentally enabled an effect like brakestart on a (maybe hidden) effect slot, turn it off in the effect dropdown
If you accidentally change rampstarttime or rampstoptime, change them back to 0 in the settings
