Topic: Last Update Causing Huge Master Volume Bug When Gain is Adjusted

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all,

As of the last update, after turning on VDJ8 - I can load a track and it will play at proper volume (as measured by the master meter on the top).

If I touch the gain (up or down, even a hair), the volume gets cut to about 50% on the master meter. I have found no way to bring it back up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Which controller are you using ?
Have you noticed the Gain values (db) that the deck gets when loads (before touching the Gain knobs) and the one right after you moved the Gain knobs ?

No controllers - fully mouse/keyboard.

It starts at exactly 0db - as it did before the bug.

When I move it even +/- 0.1db, the main volume meter levels drop from 90-100% of the meter to ~50% ..

More oddly - the channel meter remains at practically the same level, as it should, for a tiny (+/- 0.1db) change in gain on the channel.

There may be a bug in Gains several builds ago, so please try these..
- Make sure you are using the latest build
- Delete the settings.xml from /Documents/VirtualDJ folder (or move it to a backup folder)
- Launch Version 8 again.
