Topic: Target track of edit_comment vs browsed_file_info?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi, all.

'browsed_file_info' opens the file info dialog on whichever file is selected in the browser.

'edit_comment' opens the edit comment dialog for whichever track is in the selected deck. Is this expected behaviour?

Looking at the help text for each verb states they both act on the 'selected track'. I would have expected them to be consistent. :)

Regards,
Duggy.

I don't know if it's intended but I do prefer the way it is, if (lets say) you're in the mix and you find that track 2 sounds great being mixed into track 1 then I'd edit the comments of both to say so and deck focus makes that easiest, and full tag editing well I do that one track at a time so with browser focus is right again.

Unsymmetrical but it feels right for me.

Fair point.

Perhaps in future, the verbs could have a qualifier that allowed the script to specify the track selected in the browser or a specific deck (active, left, right, 1, 2, 3, etc.
