Talkover the Easy way
Hi I'm using virtual dj 7.4 with the skins "mix lab 3.1" I'm using this skin because i need the Mic control. for talkover when I'm doing broadcast dj shows.
when I' doing this show I whant to talk in the mic without feedback.
for turning down the my monitor speaker I'm using the Fostex PC-1e(B) Volume Controller (small metal box)
For the mic I'm using Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 soundcard with a RØDE NT1-A Mic
Before I can speak in the Mic without feedback I hav to do the following proces..
1. Turn down my monitor speakers totally down with Fostex PC-1e(B) Volume Controller
2. Turn on the mic in Virtual DJ
3. Turn down the music volume to half the volume in virtual dj.
4. Speak in the Mic, saying my lines, presenting songs, etc.
When I'm finished speaking I do the following procses.
1. Turn off the mic in Virtual DJ
2. Turn up the Music volume in virtual dj
3. Turn up my monitor speakers with Fostex PC-1e(B) Volume Controller
The whole procses Is anoying and a little complicaded just for speaking in the mic.
Turning down the different knobs and faders, clicking mic on and off in virtual dj.
In the end i can live with it, but if there where a smarter, more efficient, and easy way of doing this i would love buy to this gadget.
my suggestion..
A box with.
- Output phono (for the speakers)
- USB (controlling the mic by MIDI)
- Input 3,5 mm stereo jack
- A simple button on top of the box. function on/off.
- A turn knob for the phono output level.
How to use the button.
when the button is pushed down it wil stay down and its function will turn on.
pushed the button again and the function will turn off.
The function.
Button pushed down.
the box will do following.
1. Turnning the phono output totally down. (my monitor speakers)
2. Turnning on the mic in Virtual DJ
3. Turnning down the music volume to half the volume in Virtual DJ (volume level can be custemized on the box)
