Topic: Hercules dj air control - filter mapping

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey,

Wasn't too sure where to post this - hopefully this is the right place.

I've got a hercules dj control air and im trying to find a way to map virtual dj so when i.e. pad 2 is help down, I can control the filter setting using the air control?

Anyone managed to do this or got any ideas>?

Thanks

why you want use the air control for the filter, I don't see the usefulness?
You'll can't set the filter, you need a knob or a slider
The air control give you only an on or off and not a variation

Actually, the "Air" control is a proximity sensor which give you 128 values, just like a knob, so it will work fine for controlling the filter. The LED on either side give you an approximate view of where in the range you actually are.

With the default AIR mapping already included with VDJ, you'll should notice that AIR_CONTROL is mapped to controlling the Effect parameter 1, with the MAGIC button used to turn the sensor On or Off.

Knowing this, it would probably be easier to assign a filter effect as default to one of the pad (instead of one already assigned) and leave the rest of the mapping as it is.
