Topic: past play dates (mac)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

just updated to the latest update 1761.644 and i'm still having issues with past play dates, i have removed and added tracks back to the db but tracks i played wednesday night are showing as last played 01/03/2017 the dates range back to 2016, i also checked the tags and the tags are also listing first seen as various dates from 2016, if i do play a track though it is showing correct play date.
this is on mac osx mavericks with latest update on a macbook pro late 2011

If it's not in the changelog, chances are, that it has not been fixed :)

Just booting my Mac up to take a look because the issue was fixed in a build between 1752 and 1761.

Or at least my machine was ok

Just updated to 1761 on the Mac and my dates are correct.

Previously my first seen dates were 2015-2017 they are now as they should be 2012, 2014 etc

ok well here are some of my issues, mavericks updated to 10.9.3 this morning, i'm still showing past play dates as ranging from 2016-2017 these all display as they should in 7.4.1, i've also noticed a lot of played tracks are not showing last play date (again this works in 7.4.1) another issue i've just picked up is when i change the recordcase display (i drag artist to the left to display first column) after rebooting vdj 8 it reverts back to title first.

Kev,

Can you close VDJ8.
Locate the database.xml file in /documents/virtualdj/
Delete it (don't worry it will copy your V7 database over again)
Then Reload V8
Does that fix it?

ok deleted databse xml file date issues still the same, all files were put on this machine november 2013 example dates of a track played wednesday night first seen 1/9/2016 first play 21/12/2016 last play 01/03/2017 22:29 this is however on my mackbook, i'm also testing vdj 8 on my imac late 2013 with different results all files put on this machine last sept and i'm seeing different date range, again deleted xml & reopened vdj 8 this is running mavericks 10.9.3 also and latest vdj, example dates on this machine first seen 22/07/2014 first play 22/07/2014 last play 22/07/2014, actual tag data from within vdj 7 first seen 30/11/2013, first play 30/11/2013, last play 30/11/2013

i will just add the issues i'm getting are only relating to historically played tracks in vdj 7 that have not been played in vdj 8, anything i play within vdj 8 is listing the last played time & date correctly but first seen dates & first play dates are still wrong

Ok - i've logged again and we'll see what happens. They might need some more specifics as i am now unable to re-produce.

Someone will ask if thats the case though.

Kev, got a message from the developer.

Can you make 100% certain that you deleted the database.xml and then reload version 8.
If you reload V8 so you can still see you Finder, then you should see the database.xml re-generate.

I did exactly as you instructed, deleted the database.xml file and then reloade VDJ8, some of the files got fixed, but as you can see some are still on a 2015 date and some just have a date then the time...
