Yeah, it's all gone quiet on the multi platform release. I just got a Galaxy Pro 12.2 and run Mixvibes Cross DJ on it which is genuinely good. Got sick of waiting to be honest!
I am also tired of waiting too, I will try the Mixvibes Cross DJ. I feel a bit deceived by VirtualDJ, I bought VirtualDj 8 almost three years ago with the promise that it will be released soon. More than 2.5 years is not soon, I already ran out of patience last year and then came the demo release with the promise that the final version will be released soon but I am still not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel. I bought ddj sx in preparation of the VDJ8 but it is getting old now with newer updated versions coming up without me enjoying mine as I wished. This is some sort of mental torture, I visit this website at least twice every day at home or at work just to see if there is any release. I think VDJ8 should not have been advertised so early or they should have let us know it was just a concept.

I think VDJ may be missing the boat ... seems many of those "secret features" are already out in the market, in other software,
while VDJ plays catch-up due to its delayed release.
Went over to mix-vibes website and checked it out was impressed, and its not that expensive either.
I really hope VDJ pulls one out of the bag and soon (actually not "soon" as that can mean years around here ) I mean in the next 2-3 weeks.

If you have made your choice and have gone with different software, why are you still posting? I assure you, complaining will not make this go any faster AND, perhaps more important, Atomix will do what they do without regards to whether you went with a different software. AS THEY SHOULD!
I was the BIGGEST complainer of them all and then I realized that NOTHING I say or do will make a difference. They will release it when it is ready, as they should. So, I choose to embrace the fact that they don't run their company around what I think or choose to complain about and I support that 100%.
Maybe you should to. If you got other software, then go to their forum and post about it. You have CHOSEN to move on. If you still want to use VDJ, quit gumming up the forums with your "I have waited long enough and moved on" crap. Because we all know it's crap. If you truly moved on, you wouldn't still be here.
You are either for Atomix or not. They have a company to run and your complaints about how long it takes to make the software won't make a difference. So, for everyone's sake, take your propaganda BS elsewhere so we don't have to read it.
And for Atomix, because I TRUST this software so much to make my weddings PERFECT... take as long as you need! I support you and this software!

I agree to Djmagicmoments comments as I don't want to be flogging a dead Donkey when it arrives. Also I hope security has been sorted to a more strict degree as I don't want to had been waiting all this time and spending money upgrading equipemnt to find bedroom DJ nextdoor as a cracked copy the following day . It will be such a downer having had fustration of having to wait so long for VDJ 8 only to see it out there freel to all who take the risk.

@djmagicmoments
If you had supported Atomix from day one I could understand your post above, however I do remember the vitriol you posted previously, so don't give us your born again Christian crap.
It's a discussion forum and everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please remember that. And it's also a choice to use other software as well as VDJ. Many users here do and you seem to forget that.
This forum is about DJing in general, not just sucking up to Atomix and loving VDJ. And for the record I am using VDJ on a PC for my gigs but as there is no tablet app as yet I have gone somewhere else. What's the problem with that?

It's too easy to get caught up in all the new releases of this and that nowadays. The thing is - if you can mix, you can mix. Software only compliments the user. I have a friend who was using vdj 6.something until I showed him 7.4, of which he liked so he upgraded.
EDIT: Thanks for all who did chime in with relevant vdj 8 clinic feedback!

Yep Keith, that is why I said "I was the biggest complainer". And you know what that got me... NOTHING!
So why do it? These guys have ALREADY said that they moved on. So MOVE ON! Why are they posting here if they dropped VDJ, as they stated?
I just support VDJ and the fact that they are waiting until it is perfect before they release. I am certainly not a VDJ cheerleader, just a supporter.
I was their BIGGEST and most outspoken critics. But guess what, I am getting VDJ8 for free and it will be right when I get it.

If you got any further up Atomix backside you'd need a flashlight! The last release of VDJ is far from perfect hence why they started from scratch with version 8, main problem being the audio engine as it sounds garbage compared to both Traktor and Serato - and this coming from a long time VDJ fan.

If "soon" means in yours time scale more than 2.5 years, what exactly means "very soon"? I want "very very very soon" in this case. :-)
BTW. Did you see someone at the VDJ8 clinic the new promised timeline-mode in action? Just question...

I could mix IF my tcv would work like it works on some other software..

Cauthers, then why are you here? Makes no sense. Use something that works for you, not something you choose to complain about.
You think it doesn't work but then you frequent the forums. Why?
I could care less if anyone thinks I am a cheerleader for VDJ... really, I could care less. I only say that I support the software and it is my software of choice.
Seriously, why stay if you don't like it or have already moved on.

At this point in time the longer it takes the better and more bug free it will be in the end. There is no hurry at this point imo as it's so close and you know it will be here soon. now is the time where the upmost care should be taken and all the bugs sorted before releasing into the wild.

Keep in mind I am barely more than a glorified regular professional user. I have no insight. I hold no secrets. Now that I have posted my disclaimer, I will say this. If I were in charge, I would delay the release of v8, just to mess with everyone who is obsessing over it. I would sit in my office and rub my hands together, laughing maniacally like Mr. Burns in the Simpson's saying "Excellent Smithers! Look at them toil and suffer! Soon I shall tease them with another screenshot!"
It's a software. It will not do the job for you.

Anywho, see you all for the next anticipation Sunday.
