I've been using VDJ since it was just called Atomix :)
What I noticed recently are my go to effects are still the ones that have been released pretty much since effects were added to the software.
LoopOut
Brake
BeatGrid
FlippinDoubles
Just curious as to what others use as there go to effects....are there some of the newer ones that I am really missing out on?

I use brake and backspin.
Forward_reverse is also good to remove expletives if you know the track well enough

Using brake into a brake-start can sometimes work well when in a bind
Transform is awesome, just usually best with dance music
The phaser built into my mixer is my mosted used effect
I agree with loopout and beatgrid, love em

which transform are you using...i tried searching but see a few options

The transform I use is built into my mixer
I did download this cut - http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/727/Cut.html
There is no dry side though...
EDIT: I just tried Trans Mach3, which offers 2 parameter control versus the cut which has 1 parameter control. It seems better than the cut effect. By having parameter 1 on 50%, parameter 2 seems to do an ok job. It just has some weird filter on the music instead of the track actually being cut out.
Honestly after using the built in effects in the mixer I am on keen on many vdj effects

beatgrid, cut, backspin...just a few but I use these alot more than others. I still need to explore many of them. The TK2 filters are very fun to use as well if used correctly to blend tracks.

^Can you use the TK filter with a controller or is it just a mouse job?^
I use lots,
4 beat grids on 4 buttons, #1 quads beat 4, 2# 1---, 2-2- 3--- 4-4- 3# Just doubles, 4# I can only describe as a 2 copies juggling cheat.
Reverse dump + beat grid (set up to quad the last beat) on and off quickly in the mix
Overloop 4 beats from breakdown synths on low as I'm mixing in the intro
Flanger + Auto cut for 4 beats upto a symbol crash.
I've got a loop macro that first loops 32 (upto the beat drop on a build up) second press cuts the loop to 16 and jumps forward 16, next press 8, next 4 upto an 1/8 and the last press exits the loop and syncs the tracks for a build up of build ups
(the mixer's) filter + reverb + echo (on 0.1 to 1.5%) makes some nice resonant types of noise
And I've been told this is wrong (it introduces minor bpm errors) but for beat timed effects (like auto cut, flanger beatgrid) I double, quad, half and quarter the tracks bpm for more scope.

I can't believe no one said "ramp_delay" it's easily my favourite VDJ effect, when combined with scott's filter_sbdj it sound's great
