Dear colleague DJs,
I have been using VDJ Pro on a Windows laptop for years. In general, pretty satisfied with the program. It is stable and does what it has to.
Not fancy, but a working horse.
Now for the past year or so, my main computer became a Macbook Pro 13". Ever since, i have been trying to migrate VDJ to Mac.
I have to say, the experience is not a happy one. VDJ has obviously been created on and for Windows platform, and just ported to Mac OS.
And it feels!
All the little details and annoyances I do not want to delve into. I still have to use my Dell laptop (so horrid looking compared to Macbook) for VDJ at my DJ work.
I wonder, is it just me, or have you also had many headaches moving from Windows to Mac OS?
I am considering using VDJ in Windows environment on a Mac. As far as i know, there are two ways to do this. Either have a dual boot machine, where i can boot into Windows and use that environment when using VDJ. Or use VDJ in a virtual Windows environment (i have even purchased VMWare Fusion for this).
Have you guys tried any of these alternatives, what would you recommend?
Please share your thoughts and suggestions, thanks!

I really really dislike the Mac version of VDJ. It feels cobbled together and as you say there are plenty of annoying little things that make it get to you after a while.
Hopefully this will be equalled with version 8 when it comes out.
Bootcamping with Windows 7 works well but VDJ will not run efficiently in a VM. Tried and tested so don't go there.
Why should you care what laptop "looks" better, if the windows version works better for you then use that.
I'm working in a very busy bar at weekends where the previous DJ was an Apple and Traktor freak. I get people coming up to me because I use VDJ and a Vaio but so what. Never used my middle finger so much lately!

I dual boot with bootcamp Into windows 7 64bit. I have 8 gb ram and vdj runs flawlessly running video 4-5 hours a night

Hey kradcliffe, I just do not want to have two separate laptops. Just one machine for everything is the way to go for me.
Thanks guys, i guess dual booting is the next option to try out for me.
