Topic: windows 7 freezes while using VDJ with a projector

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

when im using VDJ with a projector sometimes i need to open a window such as the config menu or maybe go into my music folder to search for a song or visuals, often this window will freeze on me and i will not be able to close it.

the only way to fix it is to start the task manager which shuts off the video output to the projector, i then need to restart the video output from the config menu.
so obviously there is some setting that is causing a conflict here.

this also happened on my previous computer and VDJ tech support fixed it, but i need to fix it again and dont know how.

help please.

Turn off Aero (Win 7 you using, I assume)

It will help if you show us a screen shot of your settings in config > video otherwise everyone will be double guessing your set up.

Hi Matty.
I have had the same problem last weekend. I tried to figured out how to fix, but I wasn't able to do that. Instead of fix, I found that if you press Crtl+V (activate or deactivate VIDEO) the frezzing video windows start to work again.
This is the first time it happen to me. Hope this helps you for now until we know the reason about this bug.

My Gig:

SAMSUNG Intel Core i7-3610QM 2.3Ghz
6Gb RAM
Nvidia 630 + Intel HD 4000
HD 1Tb Main
HD 2Tb Videos and Audio
Using RGB Output down to S-Video (projector input no my idea...)
Win 7 Home Premium (Have Win 8 pro licence, but not sure about some programs works with)
VDJ Pro 7,4

Controllers:
DENON MC-6000
Pionner XDJ-R1 (Still trying to configured it. I think almost done...)

What are the settings we need to see in config > video

This is a common problem I have also. I like to use ambients, or other stuff I created our of clipbank, and it seems to me it wants to lock up a lot. It is also happens mostly when you are hooked up to your media source like a projector, etc....
