Very strange...
As it is running on your other system, the last thing i is a OS related issue.

Did you update your mainboard drivers or special USB drivers for your mainboard?

000000000 in the asio panel could happen if the driver is crashing. But if that happens you shouldn't be able to control VDJ with the VMS at all.

And just to isolate another possible failure. Try this:

(Laptop off)

Turn on VMS.
Turn on laptop.
Start VDJ.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately the problem persists.

Unfortunately I don't have a backup. And swapping out cables was one of the first things I did.

I am almost ready to resign myself to the fact that 4 deck may not be possible. two deck works fine tho. The only other thing that I can think of is that when I bought the unit the serial number on the bottom of the unit was different than the Virtual DJ LE version of the software. This is because my VMS was demo model and the original Virtual DJ LE software was lost by the retailer so he swapped it out for another copy of the same SW from another unit that was RMA'd.

But is is possible because you said that it worked fine on another computer. Therefore the issue must be your computer or a difference in the setup.

Have you consulted ADJ on this yet? You should go to their forum and get them to help. They have ADJ staff there, who will know far more about the VMS4 than we do.

No pics needed...I just got it to work!!! Whoo Hooo! Here's what I did:

- Unplugged my wireless mouse

That's it.... it simply works! But this does bring me to an obvious question. I only have 3 usb ports on my laptop; 1 for the VMS, 1 for my external hard drive and 1 for my wireless mouse. I have never gotten used to navigation with the touchpad on the VMS (it's just too clunky to me) and using the laptop touch pad is a pain in the a$$. I love the use of the mouse so do you all think that using a decent USB hub would solve this issue or would the end result be the same?

BTW you all have been awesome with all your help I deeply appreciate the assistance you all gave.

Actually DJDad I have a question about your mapper...did you map an "Unload deck button" or should I just map a keyboard command?

Is it a Logitech mouse by any chance?

Could be the notorious upperfilters and lowerfilters registry entries that are affecting the VMS4.

It's not a Logitech I believe it's a Microsoft (no manufacturer label) or an Asian brand.

Glad you sorted this out. wireless mouse, wow, indeed thats something that we could hardly think of. Especially because wireless devices (and web cameras in other cases) are usually causing midi detection issues and not sound issues.

No, unload is not included as a mapped action in my custom mapper. The action is simply.. unload , so fee free to add that to the mapper of the unit or assign a keyboard shortcut.

I'm definitely keeping a mental note of this. That is odd. By the way, so was it your first time trying on this computer? Or did it work at some point prior to this? Just want to make sure I followed correctly.

But yes congrats your headache is over:-)

It had always worked on that system but only on two deck mode.
