Topic: {NUMARK MIXDECK} HELP PLEASE! Audio is all distortion and chattering. NEED HELP!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I've had this Numark Mixdeck for about a year and a half. I haven't any major problems like this. I use Virtual DJ Pro. Bought used so I have no warranty. I understand a problems like this can be solved by adjusting the sample rate on the pc you're using. But I don't have this problem only for midi. I have the problem for all AUX/CD/Midi. I've checked both Master output and Headphone jack. Both ways I still hear this distorted noise. I cannot hear the music what so ever. Even when the music's playing it makes these noises. I've tried to adjust everything and I have no result. I had no problems with this at all before. But I have an idea that it does this because it was sitting on it's side while packed a way. I'm looking for an answer to what the problem is, or how I can fix it or if I have too replace any parts. Please help!

First of all, please register your Pro serial number to your account http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then download the latest version from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

If you have not purchased VirtualDJ Pro then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html (Especially if you are working DJ and are making money as a result of using it at your gigs.)

The problem that you describe sounds like a ground loop issue, which is a common problem with many laptop power supplies. Please read our FAQ pages on this subject: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Ground%20Loop.html

Make sure that your computer has also been optimised for DJ performance: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html
