Topic: Noise (digital artifact) reduction?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

For me the track of the summer is Giuseppe Ottaviani & Ferry Corsten's magnificent "Magenta".

Unfortunately it seems like the master copy distributed to Beatport and used to press the CD release has a ton of digital artifact noise during the big breakdown. You can hear what I mean if you listen to the official promo on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nrFj_3tMdI) at the 3 minute mark. It almost sounds like electrical interference during the recording.

Does anyone have any tips on tools which might be able to strip that noise out? The best I've achieved on VDJ is to turn down the high eq but that's killing a lot of fidelity of the synths. I guess I need something like Dolby NR did for tapes. Is there something clever I could do with Audacity perhaps?
