Topic: [Help] Help with the Hercules DJ 4set

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So, I am new to Virtual DJ, and I have used the free Home edition for use with my mouse and keyboard, and I am getting the 4Set later today. Can I spare the time that it takes to install and use VDJ Home?

No, Home FREE doesn't support using MIDI controllers (Except for 10 minutes at a time as a trial of the full VirtualDJ Pro.)

You will need to install VirtualDJ LE for Hercules DJ 4Set (Make sure that this is included with it and not another DJ software package, otherwise you will need to purchase the full VirtualDJ Pro to be able to use it with VirtualDJ.)

NOTE: You can upgrade from VirtualDJ LE (Limited software) to the full Pro at a discount.
 
Thanks so much. I was just wondering, because on the comparison page, it says Home FREE has more features, and I spent most of my budget on the 4set, so, I guess the LE will do.

I guess I need to mow more lawns.. :D
 
LE is designed to work with the controller it was included with and doesn't allow customisation.

Home FREE is for mouse/keyboard only but allows more customisation because it does not allow controllers and advanced sound configuration to be used. Home FREE is also for non-commercial personal home use only (Can't be used at gigs where you are being paid), whereas LE can be used at gigs.

You can start out with LE which has enough functionality to use your controller and then upgrade later at a discount to the full Pro once you have saved up.
