Topic: HELP split que set up needed, anybody use this? w/or w/out controller set up?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

HI< I am desperate, I am from the old days of mixing and i can NOT mix with the cue and master in my ears at the same time! The problem is some places I work have no monitors and some have no mixers! I HAVE virtual dj Pro full, that I just got. I also have a traktor audio 2 sound card that I can use, and I also just purchased a Reloop terminal Mix 4 (which I have not figured out how to set up yet).
I am used to DJing with a monitor and just using the external sound card, I use the heapphone only for one ear (the cue). If some places have a mizer with no split cue, I just plug a ear bud into it and listen to the master out in my left ear, cur on my headphones on the right. IS THERE a solution to this? I want to be able to SPLIT CUE at all times, whether just using the internal mixer on VDP on pumping sound through the sound card w/ no mixer OR using a controller like Terminal Mix 4 (or another?)...I am DESPERATE please help! Thanks

Please help me split cue in virtual DJ!

sound like you need a y ch1 for house and ch2 headphone go in the setting in VDj under sound and use the RAC out put. & remapp your KeyB for your controller ( using the laptop sound card )
or run the Y in a ex-mixer with a 2nd Y L & R ch turn off CrossF on VDJ and use the headphone on your Ex-mixer

I don't understand this at all :( PLEASE HELP

anyone?

If I am understanding what you're asking, you want to prelisten in one ear and hear the currently playing song in the other ear.

yes Johnny, PLEASE someone think of a way for me to get this!, I have to v=bring a mixer with me everywhere, just to hear the master out! AND I stupidly just bought a RELOPP terminal mix 4, and it doesnt split cue either!

Please see the link above. VirtualDJ does not currently have a split cue option, but the advanced sound config solution in the link above should achieve the same function.

The easiest option is to buy the denon mc6000 which has split cue, the cheaper option would be to hack a cable together that uses the booth output and the headphone output to achieve what you are trying to do.

the hack would require you to buy a couple of inexpensive cables, the headphone volume knob would control one side and the booth output volume knob would control the other side.

here is an example of the cables needed

i dont know what hacking two cables together means :(

Will VDJ 8 have it?

I REALLY hope Virtual DJ 8 will have this function f not I have to by a specific controller that does, and carry it everywhere!

Call me slow...I kept wondering what the hell I was doing wrong & answers WHY I cannot not get the split cue function out of
any of the controllers I use. DEAR VDJ - PROGRAM IT IN.
