Forum: General Discussion

Topic: Sources for video clips, SWF, images, etc

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Still checking to see what our distributions rights enable us to distribute.

But thought this might be a good thread for finding assets for lower cost and here's a couple to start.

iStockPhoto provides many videos, swf files, images etc so you might start there. There is some cost involved but don't think they cost much. You can download watermarked samples before you buy. Might be too pricy on second thought.

flamingtext allows you to create free logos etc online.

So if you have some resources for finding these things, post them but keep it legal.

Thanks Don! Will give these a checkin out when I get home tonight.

Don, thanks again for helping me last friday. pangoliins is the best. EM and EV best plugin for VJs...period.

Much better videos than the ones I have been seeing and about double the length. Thanks for sharing!

MotionLoops has a nice collection of loop effect videos for very reasonable cost. The more clips you buy the better. They can also do custom.

Generally speaking you only need the lower res SD videos for effects videos. These will perform better and since they are effects, resolution is not that important and they are cheaper. 45 dollars US for a 30 clip collection. You can buy single clips or get better prices for more clips.

Thanks weird jay I just got a 1 year membership for $30 alot of great clips and its exactly what I have been looking for

Would be good if this thread or similar where people could post links for video resources would be made a sticky so you could easily find it.

Yes threads here and there but don't see any sticky for subject other than content unlimited. So main point is to have something that is easy to find without digging thru threads. Not just this thread, but any sticky on subject.

Totally agree.

Thanks for the tip! I was looking for something like this!

Here's a site I run for users of VDJ and Firetext.. http://visualshed.forumotion.co.uk/

I set Visual Shed up a while back as I had nearly 300 users downloading off my desktop through gigatribe over the years, and it was just getting to much.

Everyone is welcome and all visuals displayed are completely free for vdj users, you can leave requests for custom visuals for your shows and depending on what time I've got spare they are usually made same day.

Very nice tayla. Will be checking out the site this evening.
