Hi,
Could anyone please tell me if there is any way of making Pangolin sms plugin remain on top of any other video effect ie. if I use clipbank still have the text to screen on top of that (without having to stop and re-start the pangolin plugin).
Thanks!
Lee

That does get annoying but as of right now it's not possible, at least to my knowledge it isn't.

Thanks Beatbreaker, glad it's not just me that finds it irritating. Here's hoping this may be resolved in the near future!

With the FREE SMS Firetext plugin all you need to do is deactivate then re-activate the plugin and it will then bring it above the clipbank show, try the same proceedure it may work for you.
But as you have already adjusted your text in initial post it looks as though it does.
Glad we could help.
NB, Should work when using other plugins as well, ie soniques, slide show etc.

He'll have the problem all the time as clipbank will over ride all plugins if I can remember correctly on output, it's the only work around that I know of.

@Iduncan,
Try this, http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/12968/Essential_Media.html instead of using clipbank. You'll have 48 different clips and then just map the slider so you can fade in and out and always leave it running. But if you start another video effect it will be on top of you SMS.........

Thanks again beatbreaker, thats a fair suggestion! Yes I already use Essential Media which is great but as you pointed out if you start any other video effect it goes on top of the SMS. Might just have to live with it as it is for just now, just thought I would throw it out there incase I was missing anything obvious. Thanks for the suggestions!

HI LDuncan,
Thanks for the comments and posts. You raise a great question and it's one that I had too, when I first started using Virtual DJ.
As you may know, our programmer Don is a real master at Virtual DJ SDK programming. That's one reason why we've been able to craft plugins that are unique, and do things that no other plugins do (such as playing video with unsurpassed quality and even Flash files directly in the Virtual DJ environment).
However, the problem you're having is a native problem with the Virtual DJ architecture itself. The Z-Order is defined by the order in which you start plugins. I don't think it's something that we could override...
Stated another way, this is not a bug or problem or the way only our plugin works, but rather is how Virtual DJ decided to craft Z-Order in their program.
Best regards,
William Benner

Thanks William for your your response. I did suspect that this was a Virtual DJ limitation and not a Pangolin one.
I certainly agree that your plugins are fantastic and I use them all the time. I look forward to your future developments and improvements.
I have managed to work round this issue now since I have purchased an Akai LPD8. I have managed to map a dial to the alpha channel of Essential Media and can bring it in and out as required whilst maintaining the sms window on top.
Thanks again!
