I really don't want to go searching and buying a bunch of Karaoke songs, but I was just asked to DJ a 10 year old's bday party, and they want karaoke.
I'm wondering if there is a service similar to NetSearch where I can just search for the karaoke songs while i'm at the gig?

Only if you pay for each song you download, there is no website that I know of that will work like a "NetSearch" type with a subscription fee for Karaoke file download, if there is someone will post here if there is, well if they want to share and help..
Take a look at this http://www.selectatrack.com

You can get a new release subscription here http://www.buykaraokedownloads.com/index.php?mode=text&id=1 but it won't save you much money. For me, Karaoke has been a fruitful investment with teenage birthdays alone but it also cost alot of money building my catalog and some Karaoke manufacturers don't seem to take their products very seriously as I have gotten quite a few tracks that were unusable due to graphic distortions and blur. If you only plan though to do it once or twice you're probably better off just buying the songs you want for that event, I don't know of any cheaper or free solutions.

THanks guys!!
Wow, at $3.14 a song, there's no way i'm gonna make any money at this KJ gig. I like the fact that I can download it right from their website, thats slick.
That 'buy karaoke downloads' site doesn't have the newest music, so i'd prolly stay away from them.
Thanks for the links guys!!

After reading this thread, I became curious and did some searching, and I ran across this site....http://www.thekaraokechannel.com/
Deosn't seem like a bad deal, and they have SEVERAL delivery options (mp3, mp4, CD+G, etc...) And at $1.50 per video track, seems like a reasonable price...Or, if it's a one time gig, they have an online service that gives you access to their 8,000+ songs for 48 hours along with their online software for $4.95. Just have to hook the computer up to a tv, monitor, projector, etc and go....

Ebay and Craigslist are great places to find "bricks" of karaoke. KJ's come and go so their collections are always up for sale. hope it helps....btw these guys offer subscriptions and dj music.

Please support the karaoke vendors who work hard to produce these files for professional use by purchasing them from legitimate sources rather than downloading them illegally for free.
If you are a working DJ and you are caught using illegally obtained music/karaoke and/or pirated software then both you and your venue could face prosecution. This could cost you both your reputation and job as well as a very large fine.
