I can't confirm the loop bug myself.
I use loops since I have VDJ and I used it with more than one controller and more than one laptop and desktop.
I use loops the whole evening and at every gig. I'm a loop wizard now hahaha.
I did a gig last week and had 4 decks active on my Pioneer Ergo and three of them were in a loop for about 8 minutes...
No problem here. Never had a problem with a loop. Maybe it is the soundcard?

Two soundcards? On a Reloop product and a Hercules product?
It's also been mentioned by DJs using the Pioneer Ergo, the Numark Mixtrack Pro & NS7, Native Instruments sound cards....
I wonder what the difference is between your Ergo setup and this other guys, in terms of computer/OS/RAM etc?
It's worth saying though:
If you know there's a bug with loops, why use loops when you're out gigging? Surely you're asking for trouble!

I used the Hercules DjConsole, DjConsole MKII, RMX and now the Pioneer Ergo
Never had any problems and I hope this will stay this way.

I would like to say to those who are moaning about the update...... Try Serato for a year or two.... see what you get in the way of updates then.

The loop bug its not up to the soundcard, because i used v7.0.1 and v7.0.2 and it works fine, any v. after that have the bug in the loops, so if this is an update to just fix the bugs and add controllers thats why i asked the Q. so i can try the new feature. I guess im goin back to v7.0.2 :( Thanks for awnsering my question.

I can answer the question about the loop bug - no it was not addressed - I had an 8 beat loop go silent on me at a club gig yesterday. Horrid!!! First time I have ever seen my audience jeer - that was terrible. Virtual DJ claims that it 'must be' a sound card issue since they were unable to replicate it. Well I have news for you - it happens with both my TM4 and with my 4MX on two different laptops so I doubt it is a sound card issue. I guess it is back to 7.02 for me as that apparently doesn't have the loop bug.
VDJ team, I am very surprised you can't replicate it as it means you are not testing your software in realistic conditions, over an 8 hour period with stops and starts and lots of effects/pitch changes. This is why I said release a beta version first as your users will play with it far more than you can and give you good feedback. Sorry about the rant - but still stinging from what happened.
I think this is relevant to this thread because it is warning people that the loop bug has not been fixed, so if you are using a more stable version then DO NOT upgrade.
I just found out that my TM4 will be compatible with Serato DJ (which includes video) from this Winter. So I guess if VDJ 8 is not out by then I may try the switch.
The cloudlist is pretty cool though if they add more content.

I stopped using my NS6 with VDJ and just use Itch. The loop bug makes it unusable.

My Denon DN-HC4500 any version = no problem.
My Numark NS6 with 7.0.5b = Loop Bug
My Numark NS6 with 7.0.2 = No Loop Bug
The VDJ team is aware of this bug and indicated to me on a ticket that they believe to have it fixed in version 8.

DJ CYDER i'm loving your list !!!! thanks and bow down

I think I know what sonido is talking about. it's not just looping itself. It's when you manually transition from 120bpm to 80 bpm used with beatlock and pitch lock. it happened to me ! using ns7 and vdj. definitely not a soundcard issue. Of course I could be wrong. But it did happen to me so i've been using transition tracks eversince. I still wouldn't switch to serato. I love being able to go back 4 beat with a shortcut button. you never know when the producer adds extra 2 bars.

I'm looking forward to 8 just as much as the next man but the current version is completely functional and up to the task, there's no reason why you can't gig with VDJ right? So I wonder where the big emergency comes from? I think some of you need to get out more.

I am a video DJ (not sure if I mentioned that earlier). Both my laptops are ASUS. Both have 16GB Ram and i7 processor. One has an NVIDIA 1.5GB video card and the other has an NVIDIA 3GB video card.
Another huge bug I forgot to mention is with Video. The video on the updated NVIDIA drivers used to give a lot of juddering problems. So I rolled back to an earlier version of the video driver. Can anyone tell me if that issue has been fixed with 7.1 because I do not want to risk updating the video driver and then having the same problem.
To answer your question - the reason I use loops - they are so useful for mixing two tracks, it improves the performance infinitely. Also, since I am using videos most of the them do not have long intros so it is very difficult to mix without looping. It is an intermittent problem and happens approx once a night. Usually I have been able to catch it on the headphones before I bring in the song. However, this time it happened and caught me off guard. When used properly you can do amazing mixing with loops so I am not going to stop using them. I would rather the bug just get fixed. Anyway, I assume that with version 8 it will disappear since it is a completely new codebase.
I hear that my TM4 will be compatible with Serato DJ sometime this winter. Maybe I will try that out if VDJ 8 is not out by then. However, I am hoping version 8 will blow Serato out of the water. We shall see...

Nice to see 7.1 out. Bug fixes are always welcome in my book! :)

@ prasanf
I upgraded to the latest version of vdj and did a video gig last nite.
I experienced some issues with the video's, slower loading and not as tight while doing basic scratching (the audio was fine but video was glitchy).
I'm using dell xps i7 with 3 video card.
As a vdj user I'm not happy waiting for VDJ8 to arrive, seeing basic demo's 10 months ago and with some industry insiders saying it might be Q2 next year before we see the full release of vd8.
Gonna wait till january but if serato keep improving there features and the pioneer DDJ SX performs as good as it looks i'm gone !

It would be very helpful if you are experiencing issues with ANY version, PLEASE be more descriptive about your experience whether you comment here, in your own topic, or preferably submit a ticket describing in detail the experience for our support team so we can best help you.
