Topic: Thoughts about a what mixer to get for CDJs...

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

So i'm thinking about purchasing some CDJ 850s, but i'm still on the fence on what mixer i should get to accompany them. I could go a cheaper route and get DJM-350 or 400, or i could go a more expensive route and get a DJM 700. Thoughts/opinions??

Heck, I was gonna recommend the DJM-250 - if your basing your choice around that, why not go in between

Why restrict yourself to Pioneer?

There are lots of other great mixers (and CD players) out there.

well looks like you have the VMS4 so why do you need a mixer? I also have the VMS4 and 1 Radius 3000. Whit the VMS I can just switch on the front between when I want to use the 3000 as midi or analog. But then again if you want the mixer because of it's FX then I see the point in gettin a Pioneer. I personally also want to get a set of CDJ850 because they work with Recordbox so however I set up my music with cue points and loops I can just bring my thump drives to most clubs and be able to do everything I can do at home. without the need of bringing my setup.

But if your getting a set of CDJ850 and a DJM700 just for controlling VDJ I would say it's way overkill.

Because you can overload the VMS4 mixer in a heartbeat!

It was one of the first things I noticed when I got mine - how easily it could be pushed into distortion.
