Topic: Looking For Help!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi All,

Kinda new to this so I'm looking for some assistance on what I would assume is a simple fix.

I have a Hercules DJ Console MK4 which I believe has it's own sound card built in.

I have a 15 inch MBP which I also believe has 2 sound cards built in.

I've tried playing within the sound configurations several times but cannot seem to address my problem .... For some reason I cannot get my setup so that I can play tracks through the external speakers and use my headphones to cue / mix.

I have a set of external creative speakers (left, right and a sub which powers the system plugged directly into my headphone jack on my MBP and the MK4 deck has a headphone jack which I have my headphones plugged into.

Within the configurations of VDJ I have it set at the following ...

Inputs: None
Outputs: Headphones (Master: First Card / Headphones: Second Card)
Sound Card: 2 Cards (MK4 Deck / Built-In Output)

Where am I going wrong here?

As I said before I'm certain this is a newbie error but any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

first of all you have to install the hercules drivers for mac

download from here: http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=17&fid=62&pid=262&cid=1

after it installs your settings should be

Input: None
Output: Headphone (master chan 1&2 / Headphone chan 3&4)
sound card : DJ Console MK4

With this configuration you will not use the built in sound card of the Mac

Always plug your mk4 into the same usb port as you did when you installed the drivers

If you're running your MBP with bootcamp it's slightly different but since you're in the mac area I am assuming you're running osx
