I bought vdj several months ago and never got it to work effectively with my Numark NS7 and NSFX. I did read the forums last time, but still could not get it to work. The NSFX didn't work properly, it controlled the loops instead. Looping controls didn;t work properly. My fader stopped working and coudn't scratch. I just bought a brand new pc (meets system requirements), and I want to reinstall VDJ. Any tips on how to get it right the first time? This will be a fresh install as the pc is new. DIrections say to have Serato Itich already installed, is this correct? I prefer version 1.7.1, is this okay? After I install Itch and VDJ what are the aidditional steps that I should take to get it right? Any plug-ins? As specific as you can be, please. Thaniks for you help.

Okay first do not install SERATO whatsoever. I bought the NS6 and had similar problems at first. Would you want to do is cleanly install virtual DJ without anything attached to your computer. After your installation of virtual DJ open it up and let it run than close it. The next step is to go to the NS seven website and get their drivers and firmware updates. Now if the website does not have the firmware update than what you will need to do is go to SERATO and get the latest version of that program. Install it attach your hardware and then go to updates and installed the firmware that would be needed for that together hardware and then uninstall it with your device not connected to your computer. Your next step would be to connect your device to your computer open up virtual DJ and then go to your MIDI tab and see if it recognizes it. If you don't see your device working appropriately at that point then go back to virtual DJs homepage go into their devices and download the nsseven device files and the FX files. Install them in the appropriate folders which should do automatically for you. After that open virtual DJ with your hardware connected we need your sound card alone let it come out of the computer for right now and test to make sure that all your buttons and functions are working correctly. Once you've made sure that your buttons and functions are working correctly then go back to your sound card options in and adjust accordingly. It seems like all it is that you have device files in mapper files that are just corrupt or not written correctly once you get the firmware update and you get the drivers directly from the device manager's website and you can act the way of telling you now everything should work fine for you if you don't even hit me up via IM.

Okay, I think I follow except I need to clearify on one step. I install the NS7 drivers and connect my NS7. Then I disconnect the NS7. At this point I unstall the NS7 drivers? Thanks for the specifics.

No do not uninstall the drivers. Just uninstall Serato. Leave the drivers alone and then download the appropriate device and MIDI files from this website if you see any files from A CSTOLL those are the best files to get for your ns7. You basically only need to go to the if software to get the firmware update which can be done inside the program you have to have your hardware connected to do that, once that is done disconnect your hardware uninstall Serato then plug it back in go to our website and get the files download them they will automatically go where they belong. Turn on your hardware turn on virtual DJ and everything should be working fine.
