I have a SB Live! and I don't have this problem. Sometime, re-intall driver may solve strange problem like this one.

It may not be that it's starting quietly. It may just be that the first song you are loading was recorded at a lower gain. Take a look at the gain. Often when I load in the first track I'll notice that it's like -7, or even more. Adjust the gain on that first track to zero, and then it and the following tracks will be fine. (if you have auto gain enabled.)

i've had this problem for a long time. I've reinstalled my operating system ... reinstalled my drivers ... and reinstalled VDJ ... nothing. I've seen other users have the same probelm with atomix.

Rick ... thx for the advise but it has absolutely nothing to do with the track levels or gain levels.

?????
