Topic: Bootcamped My Macbook Pro 13"- Now What?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi Guys
i just Bootcamped my mac, using snow leopard, and dumped in the max 8GB of ram
running with 256Vram
currently,
i am using my mac to record my video mixes with the VMS4 running VDJ 6.1.2 (i do not like 7)
however using my mac with screenflow to record a video mix is still a CPU nightmare
VDJ meters stay in the red, and i get pops and clicks during a transition from one video to the next,
and i can only record 30 minutes at a time then screenflow freezes up,

Quite the dissapointment, especiially after shedding out so much cash for a mac & upgraded memory and i still cant record a simple video mix :(

so i bootcamped it!!
just intstalled the asio drivers, firmware, for the VMS4, plug ins for VDJ 7, sound effects, video effects, ect ect..

so far im not getting any sound thru the mac speakers, is this normal?
also trackpad is a lil weird, so i just plugged in a mouse
i cant get my keyboard to light up and i cant control the brightness of my screen

So now what??
any info or links or personal info i can use to aleviate these minor irratations?

what can i use to record my videos mixes now, similar to screenflow??

did a make a good choice or do i just go get a new PC laptop??

thanx for any help fellas

hey i can help the best i can it seems to me you processor cant keep up you may need to upgrade to a newer macbook pro i am using a 2011 macbook pro with 2.4ghz core 2 duo and 4 gigs of ram and my video chops up as well i have 256 v ram to the other suggestion is to get a desktop for when you are doing video mixing and put a good video card in it. As for boot camp try redoing the system with a fresh osx and then boot camp it you may have had a bad install. ps windows will not handle video as well as osx does.

Have you installed the bootcamp drivers? That will fix the no sound issue from the mac speakers! And it will sort out any other driver problems
