Hi VDJ members using Allen & Heath Xone DX, I have figured out that since Allen & Heath does not provide any midi data for the headphones then the only option is look for the answer in Virtual DJ software. Guess what, the answer is a very simple one!!!! All that needs to be done is tell VDJ software where to route the sound on the Xone DX which is a sound card, Right?!? Here is the procedure:
1. Open sound setup in settings;
2. Go to 'OUTPUTS' drop down menu and select 'Advanced Config' and then click the 'Advanced Config Tab'.
3. At the Advanced Config interface using the drop down menus from left to right:
MASTER OUTPUT CONFIG:
Drop down menu on the left under ouputs choose Master; Drop down menu in the middle choose XONE: DX USB ASIO driver; Drop down menu right choose 'Output 1&2'.
To add nother line, click the '+' button on the left and;
BOOTH OUPUT CONFIG:
Drop down menu on the left under ouputs choose Master; Drop down menu in the middle choose XONE: DX USB ASIO driver; Drop down menu right choose 'Output 3&4'.
To add nother line for the headphones click the '+' button on the left and;
HEADPHONE OUTPUT:
Drop down menu on the left under ouputs choose Headphones; Drop down menu in the middle choose XONE: DX USB ASIO driver; Drop down menu right choose 'Output 7&8'.
SUMMARY:
OUTPUT DRIVER CHANNEL
Master XONE: DX USB ASIO driver (ASIO) Output 1&2
Booth XONE: DX USB ASIO driver (ASIO) Output 3&4
Headphones XONE: DX USB ASIO driver (ASIO) Output 7&8
I hope this puts us a step closer to getting a VDJ Xone DX mapper for our VDJ community.
Cheers.

I can't use the controllers so what's the meaning of this?

It is for the benefit for other VirtualDJ Pro users who wish to use the Xone:DX.
If you also wish to do so, you will need to purchase the full VirtualDJ Professional: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
VirtualDJ Home FREE is for non-commercial use only and supports mouse/keyboard use only. It does not support MIDI controllers or advanced sound config and cannot be used at gigs where you are being paid.

I have the DX but the controllers won't work with the Virtual DJ. I've tried.

It work fine ;-)
You should take a look in the XoneDX1 definition.xml
My Xone will not work with the standard definition file.
<device drivername="XONE:DX Midi" pid="ffdd" vid="0a4a" decks="2" type="MIDI" author="Mapper by C.Hackl" name="XONE:DX Midi">
look in your System an find your correct Devicename or use the Midi-Tool from downladcenter
My working definition file:

I am doing on mapping the Allen & Heath XONE-DX 4-Channel DJ Controller and i will post is soon. If you want some features to be added just post some of your concern in my VDJ walls and if you want some information and update to what i have done on XONE-DX that capable of working with Virtual DJ as a controller you read my blogs on some features listed which is i have already incorporated that to the XONE-DX VDJ mappers. One good thing is i have also modified the VDJ skins to work as DECK 1/2 LEFT & 3/4 RIGHT this is how it works in XONE-DX.

For the people who could not get their xone dx to be recognized as a controller I had to change the name of the device name for it to be recognized when starting up virtual dj. In the devices file and in the mapper the device name at least for my machine needed to be:
Device:
<device author="Mapper by C.Hackl" decks="2" drivername="Allen&Heath Xone:DX" drivernameout="Allen&Heath Xone:DX" name="Allen&Heath Xone:DX" pid="ffdd" type="MIDI" vid="0a4a" >
for the Mapper:
<mapper device="Allen&Heath Xone:DX" author="dj.nice" description="Allen&Heath Xone:DX" version="705" date="23/10/2011">
The files you download from virtual dj list a different name for the device as "2- Xone:DX" and that did not work for me. Not all functions work but the decks are operational along with a lot of the eq's and navigation systems. I struggled through this for a while tonight and I wanted to share this for those interested in using this controller.

Hey would anyone be interested in tag teaming midi mapping for zone dx? I just got one, but itch just doesn't have the features i'm used to in cue/vdj. The dx is an awesome, but complicated controller. I think if one person trys to map the whole thing it will probably be finished on a quantum computer. Maybe we can split the labor, one person tackles a set group of functions, then we just paste them together? I'll make a thread on the subject and link to, see if i get some bites.

A lot of work is already done. Have you seen >>this<<?

I have itch,but id rather stick to vdj because i started with this before i even purchased a external mixer (for the very first time) and as soon as i hook it up,I have a problem.My external mixer is not compatible with vdj :L .. I went in search for a software enabler (something like that) so that i can start mixing on this external mixer :/ ...all that hardwork just to get it compatible with vdj c: .. Gosh i am waiting to get the full version of vdj so that i can buy the Xone dx mapping from this website :s . Very frustrating >.< As i was told it was compatible,but since i didn't know much about mixer's.I guess that's my fault i spend the money on it.So i look in search .. and i find that xone dx is disowned! something like that !...No wonder this was going so cheap! :L

But it's a very nice looking controller..And i am glad this is compatible to vdj,reason i buy in the first place.

Did you read this whole thread, because I did, and found this answer to your question. This thread is from 2011, and has very little to do with our current version. In most cases, it would just be better to start a new thread with your issue. This controller is not natively supported by VDJ, but there is a mapper. Unfortunately, it is for pro users only.
