This is confusing to me guys....If my controller has a "pitch slider,"....why does it also have "pitch bend" buttons?....Don't the slider and the button do essentially the same thing?.........Im sure there is a really simple answer, Im just not aware of it!...lolol.....thanks community! =D

nope, they do both affect the tracks pitch, but in different ways...
the pitch slider changes the absolute pitch faster or slower, but pitch bend nudges the pitch of the track forwards or backwards but will return to the absolute pitch set by the pitch slider.
You use it when beatmatching, to get the track playing in the right position, then depending on the way it drifts adjust the pitch fader to compensate, its the same as moving the jog or adjusting the platter for vinly, just in a button.
when you map it you have 2 parameters you can modify...
pitch_bend 0.01% 1000ms
the first value 0.01% is how much the button bends the pitch
the second value 1000ms is a multiplier, eg every 1000ms (1 second) double the % value
