At the moment I am trying to code an effect crossfader that adjusts the parameters of certain effects, what I want to be able to do is set parameters when a track loads as I am using a dual highpass filter between decks 1 & 2, the problem with it is I am using fake_crossfader so the cutoff is essentially the crossfader, the problem is when a new track is loaded it is at full volume...
I understand I can map "deck # load & deck # effect active" for a button but I would like to keep it a part of the skin so you can use either the skins crossfader or a midi one, but allowing you to drag a track onto a deck and if a shift is activated re initiate the effect.
So I guess what I am asking is can you code an action for when you place something in a dropzone?

I don't know if this applicable, but have youtried changing the settings for the "reset on load" options under settings->options?
