Topic: Once again: Recording issues with VDJ7

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi there,
VDJ5 worked so well for me! More than 2 years I used it with succes. I have an External Mixer with 2 USB, Mic and Headphone plugs and my Soundconfig was the following:

Input - None
Output - External Mixer - Left Deck: Left Card, Right Deck: Right Card
Soundcards - 2 Cards - USB Audio Codec (1), USB Audio Codec (2)

When I wanted 2 record my set, I would connect the Record Out of my Mixer with the Sound System (because it is very loud) and the Master Out with the Line-In at my PC. It was no problem to tell VDJ5 to just record the Line-In...
But now I upgraded to VDJ7 and it suddenly is!

When I keep my settings like in VDJ5, I cannot record the Line-In anymore, instead VDJ7 is recording the 2 USB-Channels. That's not ok, because then I wont be able to prelisten to any tracks with my headphones anymore, because as soon as I prelisten this will be recorded as part of the mix, but I just wanna record the Master!!!

So I gathered some intel and found that you have to go to Advanced Config, to make the recording work. And I fixed it,....but what the heck....now my Mixer wont work anymore!!! I tried almost every combination, but it just wont work, the way it did before. Example:

Line-In1 - Realtek HD Audio Input - Input1&2
Deck1 - USB Audio Codec (1) - Output1&2
Deck2 - USB Audio Codec (2) - Output3&4

I can record with these settings, but every track I play with VDJ will be sent to the left Deck on my Mixer. I can't mix, if I can use only one Deck!

When you say "upgraded" is it a registered copy of VDJ7 from this site or a cracked copy from the internet?

Route a proper cable from your mixer's booth or rec output to the line-in of your internal sound card (pc or laptop). make sure that it is not muted from Control panel.

Advanced Sound setup
Deck 1 .... CDJ400ASIO ..output ch 1&2
Deck 2... ..CDJ400ASIO ..output ch 3&4
RecordLoopback.. Your internal sound card name ... Inputs 1,2

What do you mean it doesn't work?? No sound at all, the sound is really bad? What format are you recording to?
