Ok there I am happily getting into my set when suddenly....crunch...my controller stops responding!
All the LED's are happily blinking on and off as they should, but none of the knobs or buttons are responding....ahhhh...
Ok, calm down...I'll just go into config and rescan for new devices...nope that didn't work...
Oh god...my mix point is coming up...quick juggle with the controls on the skin using the mouse and I've bought myself a few minutes...
Right, lets try unplugging the controller and plugging it back in....at this point I get a sound that can only be described as a cat being released from an elephants rear whilst using it's claws to hold on...
As you can imagine the crowd look at me as if I've just crawled out form under a rock.
Now thankfully I had the foresight to create a 45 min mix using Numark iDJ for the iPhone and had the iPhone connected to a spare channel on the mixer.
A quick press of play, within iDJ, push the channel volume up (and kill the laptop feed) and the music resumed (I had Barbra Striesand - Duck Sauce as the lead track on the iDJ mix, which my local crowd all love).
So now I've bought myself some more time, quick look at what has happened with my controller and VDJ, nothing apparent so load up a track into deck A and preview it, using the the controller...all is well.
Now it's a case of waiting and mixing in my laptop output with the iPhone output...Done!
I did worry slightly about whether it was going to happen again, but it was solid for the rest of my 4 hour set.
So, what is the point of this mindless rambling?
Well, it really is just to praise iDJ and recommend it to all (and yes I know it's not an Atomix product, but as there is a close relationship between Numark and Atomix, I didn't think it was out of place).

Nice story and good save! Whether it be iDj, Sansa mp3 player, mix cd, etc I think the main point is to ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP READY TO GO!!! My VDJ is so stable I trust it but I always keep something in the cd player at the club just in case! On a mobile event using time code cds I always have a cd close by to grab and toss in one of the cd players.
