Topic: VirtualDJ 7.0.2 and Reloop Digital Jockey 2 not working

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey guys,

I'm running a 13" Aluminium MacBook, OSX 10.6.something (latest). I use a Reloop Digital Jockey 2 controller which worked great using VirtualDJ 7.0.

When I try and use the latest VirtualDJ version though (7.0.2), the controller isn't recognised at all - the soundcard portion of it is still recognised but not the MIDI controller side of things. It's as if the mapping itself is missing from 7.0.2 or something.

I have even tried running both versions - 7.0 and 7.0.2 - on the exact same system. 7.0 still works fine, the Digital Jockey 2 is recognised and the lights come on and it works; with 7.0.2, there's nothing.

I'm sticking to 7.0 for now but wouldn't mind trying out the iPad support (hand-held music browser :) ) in the latest; is the reloop thing a known issue?

The Reloop DigitalJockey mappings were updated in v7.0.2 to include mappings optimised for the Reloop 2 series (Originally the Reloop 1 mapping was used, which is very similar MIDI protocol, but the buttons have different functions.)

if you have installed any custom definitions or mappings for it, these may be conflicting. Please remove them from /users/YOURNAME/Documents/VirtualDJ/Mappers and/or /users/YOURNAME/Documents/VirtualDJ/Devices

If you have the Master Edition, you will need the latest firmware installed: http://www.reloopdj.com/forum/index.php/topic,4495.0.html

If you have either Controller or Interface Edition, please do the following:

(1) On a Windows PC, download the following program: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/miditrace.exe

(2) Make sure that only Reloop controller is connected to your computer and all other programs are closed including VirtualDJ.

(3) Run MIDItrace and select the controller in both the input and output sections.

(4) Click on the SEND button.

(5) Copy and paste the result string that is returned.

Thanks very much for the response. I am in fact using the Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition.

I tried updating to the latest firmware on the Reloopdj website (V3.3 for Interface Edition 2) which still did not help.

When I ran the MIDItrace tool on my PC and clicked 'Send', I received the following response:
F0 7E 00 06 02 48 50 02 02 00 05 00 03 03 00 00 F7

HEy guys,

I also have a similar problem with my Digital jockey 2 interface edition from reloop.

I am running, Mac OSX VERSION 10.6.7, 2.4 Ghz Intelcore i5, Memory 8GB

My virtual dj pro version 7.0.3 is not recognizing the midi controller, i dont have problems with the headphones or master output, i only have the problem that it does not recognizes the controller in the mappers config folder, and therefore no responding in the program itself?

Can anyone Help me!? i installed the latest firmware: Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition: FW 2.7 (full 4 decks with LED, Mic Software Routing, noShiftLock) downloaded from the reloop website.

Nevertheless nothing seems to work :-(

Sp please if someone can help me it would make my day!

Does your DigitalJockey respond to SysEx ID? Please follow the instructions above on a PC to test and then post the resulting output here so that we can check.

Make sure that you do not have any custom mappings installed in /users/YOURNANE/Documents/VirtualDJ/Mappers and/or /users/YOURNANE/Documents/VirtualDJ/Devices which may be conflicting with the native mappings built into VitualDJ.

That SysEx ID code matches the Reloop DigitalJockey 2 Interface Edition and will work with the latest VirtualDJ v7.0.5b Pro.

This is an old topic about it not working in v7.0.2, which is an old and out-of-date version of the software.

If you are using v7.0.2 then this is probably why it is not working.

Please register your Pro serial number on the page http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then download the latest version from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

If you have not purchased VirtualDJ Pro then please support the software and its future development by purchasing it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
