Topic: Karaoke Management and Scrolling Singer line up on screen

The karaoke rotation manager is pretty simple...one finishes and another one jumps on screen. That i absolutely agree needs help. There is a program called "Compuhost" that does that scrolling feature. The program also stores in a database the history of the singers (which is a great feature as well). The best feature that would be incredibly helpful to KJ's using Virtual DJ...would be the scrolling line up at the bottom.

Ultimately we love Virtual DJ...because it's VIRTUAL DJ. These added features would help market VDJ to a whole new vertical of DJ's. There are many Karaoke Jocks that have yet to go to the versatility of VDJ merely because they would lose particular functionality of a lesser program. These added features would increase the "value" of VDJ and would also attract these "full time KJ's and part time DJ's".

I'm English, God has blessed me with not needing to be bi lingual, so I'm struggling a bit to understand "a whole new vertical of DJ's" Any Dj worth his salt should always be found in the horizontal and if damn lucky also.... you with the smutty minds can fill in the rest.
 
HA HA HA...Thanks my friend. Let me explain...There are dentists...they have the title of Doctor...I wouldn't go to them if my spleen was coming out. DJ's are DJ's. They play music. But I wouldn't go to any DJ to run a karaoke show and in many instances...I wouldn't go to a Karaoke Jock and ask them to host a night of dancing. Unfortunately, the focus should be on the idea, not the wording. There are many different types of music...you have your hip hop DJ's and your house DJ, country music DJ's, or the "wedding DJ". So perhaps my wording didn't accurately portray what I was getting at...however I do feel that a utility like this benefit karaoke jocks everywhere.
 
There was a guy in another post with a similar problem and I made this template for him to use with the text function (use horizontally or vertically, forward or reverse) in the Firetext plugin...



now it is just a temporary fix, but you can make your own templates and put them anywhere on screen on auto rotation using the template function, I could show you how if your interested, not automated you have to add your own names, but you would have to do that at some point anyway.

Since your original post and the other guys I've been looking into whats really needed/wanted for karaoke jocks and I'll let you know how I get on.
 
I think it's a good idea to have something a little more flashy... But then I've got round that using my ipad with video out lead creating animated singer introduction slides =D.
 
Above all else, the main feature for development within VDJ shoould be the karaoke interface.
 
So that looks very helpful as a temporary fix. Main features that I am wondering if it could happen.

1) Singer history retained

2) Ability to Scroll (like SBDJ Scroll) at LEAST the top next three singers in line. (and auto rotate)

As far as what you said about the iPad Singer intro screens...I have a friend who makes "avi" video files for his regulars to introduce them. He just loads them into the player. I still keep to a "less flashy" show. But it's less the intro and more the lineup. It gets old hearing "when am I up". Partly because I always throw out the d-bag answer "when I call your name over the Speakers". It'd be nice to just have a scrolling lineup. Is it needed...no...but wanted...ABSOLUTELY!
