you can probably make that work with VDJ but you will need Pro version of the software to use the controller.
read some of the info here, http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/index.html very useful.

some new budget controllers;

Numark MixTrack http://www.numark.com/mixtrack
Hercules DJ Control Steel http://www.hercules.com/us/DJ-Music/bdd/p/83/dj-control-steel/
Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 http://www.hercules.com/us/DJ-Music/bdd/p/110/dj-control-mp3-e2/

these controller all come with a version of VDJ designed for the contoller.

Im interested in buy the Numark Mixtrack Pro, are you able to assign the crossfader to control the decks, 'IE" if i want the right deck to play witht the fader moved all the way to the left and vice versa

You mean Fader Start ? Yes it's possible.

im thinking of buying this.. but im wondering if this will work with virtual dj ?? does anyone hav this.. how is this for beginners?

A friend of mine bought one of these to mess around and it did work with my VDJ Pro, has you basic play, pause, sync, cue, platter and mixer controls. Does not have any looping, hot cues or effects buttons so you will have to use your mouse to click those functions on VDJ. For the price not bad for a beginner I guess but I would say spend a little more on a Hercules MK4 or even a used Hercules MK2
