Topic: advice on how to setup my computer to be able to record a session

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I purchased this Delta 44 M-Audio Break out Box,
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta44-main.html

Because I thought it would solve a huge issue I have with VDJ:

While one song is playing and being recorded direct to my hardrive.. I can cue up a song in my headphones exactly where I want it to start. So while the first song is being played ( and recorded).. and Im listening to the other song in my headphones... I try and cue up that next song...so within the other deck Im clicking around in the song to find the exact location of where I want to cue up.. so I miss it a few times.... but all along unfortunately... the recording is capturing everything... the live set and all my fumbling around cueing the next song! HELP!

Short and to the point Notes:
Does anyone have any advice on how to setup my computer to be able to record a session and also be able to monitor with headphones... ( but not record the monitoring.) Im a novice.

Internally I have a Nvidia Sound Card, and this Delta 44 break out box.
Radeon 9800 PRO vcard, 1 gig ram, 2.3 gig Athalon overclocked to hell.
