I've got those tri-phse LED lights and they really are excellent. My tip with them would be to buy a short dmx cable and link them together. In a small room the effect of 2 of them doing different things can be a bit overwelming! Also, if you buy the little hand held controller you can make them go slow for slow dances and choose the colour that best suites the mood.
I think those 2 plus some led wash lights would be a good combo. Personally I have 2 american dj par 64 pro LED par cans and have them on the ground shining up either onto a wall by the dancefloor or onto the ceiling.
If you've got some extra cash still after all that I'd get a pair of scanners that will project gobos onto the dancefloor for a bit of extra interest to your show (Since the Tri phase only do different coloured "dots" the gobos will hopefully stop people's eye's going square!). The idea of the mirror ball effect isn't bad either. (but again it's more "dots" on the dancefloor!)
