Over the years, I have used the FILE INFOS feature in VDJ to make changes to the artist's name, song title, genre, comments, etc.
But these changes only reside in the VDJ song database. It doesn't look like VDJ changes the tag information in the actual MP3 file.
Is there any way to use VDJ as an MP3 tag editor so the information in the song database can replace the information in the MP3 file?
The reason I ask is because I want to create and publish a "Song List" that I can place on my website, but the information stored in my MP3 files is no longer accurate.

Basically no .... the possibility of writing database changes back to tags has been requested so many times now and it's obviously not going to happen. VDJ reads tags when you import a song to the database the first time but any changes from then on are to the VDJ database only.
It is one of the things that really lets VDJ down in my opinion but not important enough to the programmers.
I have to do everything twice with MP3tag and VDJ which is twice the work but hey ho ..... :)

You shouldn't have to make any tags changes twice! If you stick to changing tags outside VDJ, then if making tag changes after VDJ initially reads the tags, simply reload the tags within VDJ on the selected tracks and you're sorted ;-)

We understand that and most of us do, but you are missing the point, the convenience factor of doing it on the fly inside of VDJ would be so much better.
Plus, I suppose what a lot of the guys do I know I did when first getting the software will sit down for weeks transferring files and filling the fields in into VDJ oblivious to the fact that unlike the majority of other DJ softwares out there VDJ does not write to tags. At least give a heads up to them.
Like a lot of other guys I have been requesting this for over three years now, but realistically, I don't think it will ever happen. Never mind you can't always get what you want, I'm using V5.2.1 because it's what works for me and I'm as happy as two pigs in mud (V6** doesn't like me, lol) and can run a gig 6 - 7 hours a night without problems, only two things I want though, those write to tags and DJ Touchdans Black Sheep skin.

Nope, didn't miss the point at all. I was simply saying that tags don't have to be edited twice, which is what was said!
I do agree however with the convenience factor of being able to edit tags directly within VDJ. It would be a nice capability to have ;-)

Another aspects depends where you master your collection. My external drive is a copy I take with me to gigs. I rip & tag at home. Therefore I only ever use VDJ as read only.
But I also understand that there should be the fexlibility, however the UI does not lend itself to well to tagging...
Cheers,
Roy

I hope vdj doesnt decide to start incorporating this. There is perfectly good software out there that already does this job.

There is perfectly good software to edit tags, but what we want is the ability for VDJ to write any database changes back to the tags.
