Purchased a RMX last week

My setup is as follows

Hercules RMX connected via USB to my laptop
Hercules is also connected to my hi fi via the output 1 and 2 connectors using RCA connectors
Im running Windows 7

In the sound card setup when i tick the" apply EQ to external" box the music i play keeps jumping about

When i untick this box every time i move the crossfader, gain button, volume etc i get a garbled, distorted type of noise coming through my speakers.

Can anyone give me a solution? Im at a loss here.

Thanks

Virtual DJ will work in WDM unless you check the box APPLY EQ ON EXTERNAL SOURCES. This will then switch to ASIO

A few things you shoul do.

1) Apply the changes explained in this guide:

http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00364.pdf

2) In the DJ Rmx Control Panel, switch to ASIO audio mode, and in the ASIO tab, configure as follow:

- 44 Khz

- 16 bits

- 480 (10 ms)

.
3) Launch VDJ. You will probably have an ERROR IN THE SOUND DRIVER message, but this normal.

For Sound Setup, configure as follow:

- Input : None

- Output(s): Headphone

-Soundcard: DJ Console Rmx,

then check the box APPLY EQ ON EXTERNAL SOURCES, then click APPLY.

Use VDJ for a while and see if you still get problems. If so, You can raise or lower the ASIO Buffer Size until you find the correct setting for your computer 9this needs to be done while VDJ is not running).

Thanks for the reply.

I uninstalled the RMX drivers and also VDJ
Cleaned out all temp files and old registry files.
Rebooted.
Installed the RMX drivers again. This time however i wasn't connected to the internet
Rebooted
Installed VDJ
Rebooted

My config is now setup as not having ticked the 'Apply Eq to external inputs'

So far i dont have any garbled sound when i use the cross-fader, gains buttons etc

Fingers crossed it stays that way...if not then i'll try what you described above.

Thanks for your help.

Maybe when i was connected to the internet Widnows tried to install its own driver? Who knows.

answer to you other question mapping allows you to set whatever you want rmx to do from each button.
first i would get it working in normal\ mode as vdj will just work with it,
then in mappers settings in config make sure rmx console shows up on top of left hand side.
when you click on it a list of all you buttons will come up.
then you can map each button using vdj script.
once you get this sorted the fun begins have had mine for over a year now and best buy ever after vdj
