Hi,
I have windows 7 64bit evaluation build 7100, a Realtek 7.1 RTC889A onboard card. Also using Creative inspire 5.1 speakers connected via optical and 3.5 jack lead in the line in
I set this pc up about a month a go, so its a pretty clean install, if needed i have an M-audio audiophile 24/96 but its not fitted to the pc.
I have installed Virtual DJ the version that came with my hercules, and registered, i guess you can see that :-)
i found this post and followed it however this fella is using a different version of virtual DJ i dont have the soundcard options?
http://de.virtualdj.com/forums/94146/PC_Version_Technical_Support/using_headphones___speakers_for_virtual_dj.html
My problem is that what ever i manage to get my headphones to do, the speakers do the same. so i can not monitor with the headphones. when i press the headphone button on my hercules, the speakers play deck a and b
Hope this makes sense.
Regards Nitro

Inputs - None
Output - Headphones
Soundcard - Mono-Separated
You will need to use a Y-splitter to split the Left/Right. Everything will be Mono. Unless you use a 4.1 compliant card that has multiple outs, then you can use a dedicated output for the Mains and a different jack for the Headphones.
I would consider looking at investing in something like the Numark DJio or something similar ...

done some dig on my sound card Driver ver 6.0.1.5973
1. Realtek ALC889A codec
2. High Definition Audio
3. 2/4/5.1/7.1-channel
4. Support for Dolby Home Theater
5. Support for S/PDIF In/Out
6. Support for CD In
It say there 4 channel so surely it should work?
My headphones are Sennheiser but they are gaming ones dunno if thats makes a diffrence, i did read about Impedance requirements somewhere.

Ok sorted it after 5 hours of playing, reading, posting :-)
Click the Audio manager by the clock
Go to speakers> Speaker configuration Quadraphonic
1. Green Front speaker out to speakers (At the Right side click them)
2. Black Rear out to side speakers
Then connected the headphone to rear out.
All working now :-)

But how many outputs are on your soundcard ? 1 ? 2 ? 3 ?
The chip might support it but if there are not the physical connections then you can't use the capability.
EDIT : LOL ... see we posted at the same time ... glad you worked it out :)

I was setting the black rear to rear speakers very confusing lol select side speakers by mistake, but it works.
Card has loads of outs and inputs
6x 3.5 jacks plus 2 x front panel 3.5 jacks
optical output and coaxial in and out
