Hello , ive set up my virtual dj with my Numark dj i/o external sound card, then connected it to channels 1 & 2 on my mixer ..
Here is the problem im having .. When i play direct to my speakers through my amp all is fine , i only ever hear one song unless i crossfade into the other song which is playing (which is fine)
However on Vdj , if i try to record a mix im doing , or play live on shoutcast , no matter which side of the mixer the crossfader is on , the users via shoutcast or my computer records both songs playing at the same time ...
So for instance , if my crossfader is fully over to channel 1 , and i start songs via Dvj on both decks. On my pa system i only hear 1 channel , (channel 1) , but ppl online or my computer would also record/hear channel 2 being played also ..
i think ive set it up all correctly ..
However ive noticed that left deck gives my the option of channel 1&2 , and right deck channel 3&4 , or vice verca .. However i only have a 2 channel mixer .. is this the problem ???

When using a non-MIDI capable external mixer, VirtualDJ has no way of knowing where the crossfader is and/or which channels are currently playing out live. As far as its concerned, both channels are being output and as such, both will be recorded and/or broadcast.
The only ways around this are either:
(1) Connect a suitable cable to the REC OUT of your external mixer and connect this into the line input of your sound card. Choose Line Input in the recording/broadcasting options.
(2) Use a MIDI mixer such as Hercules RMX - Because this controls the software mixer in VirtualDJ, it will know which channel should be live and the correct sound will be recorded/broadcast.

Thanks for that , think i will go for the mini jack to rca stereo cable for now, being the cheaper option .. once i have some more funds will look at the usb midi mixer
