I got a new laptop last week, and I tried installing the Hercules rmx on it, the installation went fine, but there's still a problem recognizing the hercules rmx.. The DJ icon shows a X instead of a check and I can only open hardware information and check for updates, but when I check for updates it tells me I already have the latest version.
I already reinstalled the drivers downloading the latest version from the hercules website...
Any1 got experience with this? I think that w7 dosent recognize my hercules rmx somehow..
Any help appreciated !

Can you check the installation, as described in this document:
http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00350.pdf
Can you tell us which devices have a yellow exclamation point next to them ?

Is it OK to upgrade to Window 7? Would everything work after installation?

I second that question...
I am getting tired of vista being slow and sluggish on a machine that has more power than is needed to run VDJ Pro.
I have a 4 year old Dell with xp that seems more reliable.
The big question really is Vista or Windows 7 What is best? and what problems should we expect with upgrade to 7?

Windows 7 itself is way better then vista (faster nicer looking ect) but currently there is no driver from hercules for w7 and the vista one dosent seem to be working

found this on the internet:
"Good news! All the people saying that you can't run any Hercules controllers on Windows 7 are utter idiots :)
Now here is how to get your mixer to run, I just did it a few minutes ago.
First download the latest drivers from the Hercules site:
http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=files_faq
Second right click the file you downloaded, select "Proprieties" then select compatibility mode and select Vista SP2 compatibility mode... Apply and you have your self a fully functional mixer :D
Hope this will help "
can anyone try it, not at home currently!

I've tried everything on this thread with zero luck. My RMX was working perfectly with VDJ on Vista, as soon as I installed my hard copy of Windows 7, the computer doesnt recognize the RMX at all...the new drivers wont work either. I get an error message at the end of the driver installation sayint my drivers are older

update from vista to 7 no problem at all with RMX

Mattin90:
This problem (Driver older...) often occurs because some file of the previous installation are not being updated properly.
The solution:
Go to C:/Windows/System32/drivers folder and delete the following files:
- hdjbulk.sys
- hdjasiok.sys
- hdjmidi.sys
Once done, launch the installation again.

use ccleaner to delete hercules drivers from your programs then go to C drive an delete the hercules folder from there
then go to start/ run/ type in the space ( regedit) go to hokeyuser then open and stroll down to software then open look for
hercules folder highlight it then delete it. after that reboot and once you reboot go to windows update and install all the
important updates once you are finished go to hercules site and download the drivers do not save just select run when it done
you will be told to restart you computer inorder for the changes to take effect
I hope that will help it work for me

I use Windows 7 Ultimate, VDJ 6.0.5 Pro, Hercules RMX
Never had issues else than you need to ''Run As Administrator'' all softwares (drivers included) to install properly everything.
After installation You'll need to run as admin vdj.exe
otherwise you database will not work properly.

I was able to succesfully install my hercules RMX on my laptop (using windows 7) but I have problem with installing the VDJ 5 DJC programme I received with my RMX.
I'm able to install it but when I open it I get two kinds of errors, first one is "error in the ASIO sound driver" and the second one is "Invalid skin file"
I really could use some help here so if anyone knows what's wrong, please talk to me.
grts,
Jeffrey

Uninstall the current version of VDJ you have on your computer.
Go to the DOWNLOAD section of this site and get the latest update for VDJ for the Rmx (v5.2.2).
Once the file is on your computer, right-click it and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR to launch the installation.
You should also install the latest drivers from the Hercules support site:

I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7, I tried to install my Hercules Steel with the VDj 3.4 that I used on my old laptop (vista). All the software installed properly for both programs. When I tried to open the VDJ I get an error message saying that my controller is not detected on my system. I checked the Hercules and everthing is installed and says it's working there is no red x. I have installed and uninstalled both programs 5 times, I have a party this weekend and I don't know what to do HELP ME PLEASE! I AM LOST!
