I have an external sound card m-audio fastrack pro, when I turn it on virtual dj with the operating system mac osx, I can not put the audio in stereo (version: 5.0 beta3 and I tried with a 5.2 too)
i have a desktop with windows and I can put the adio stereo with the same card (version: 5.0 rev 6)

You may want to try later versions where all the problems have been solved ...5.0 is pretty old. If you register your serial number, you know you can download the updates right?
I would also look at the audio configuration of VDJ to have something that looks like this:
Input : None
Output : Headphone
Soudncard: 4.1 output
