Choose output Headphone on your soundcard set-up so that there should only be one out going to you master.
The moment you move the software fader it's the only time the cued track will be feed to the master, master being your record out.

OK i got it to work all good now my other problem is that its all faint and crackly as if its at 98bps or something has it got something to do with the mixers nobs i,e mid treble gain bass. or virtual djs?? or cue?

Hi mate.

Are you using TCCD with external sound card or trying to record the signal from the output of your mixer and playing CD's?

Because your hardware mixer is not controlling VDJ's software mixer you will not be able to record the sound you hear from the output of the Pioneer mixer. VDJ may only be recording the sound from the master output of its software mixer, (The one you see on the skin).

If you can provide a desctiption of what you have and how you have it connected it will help us to help you.

Hey Daz, yerh what u said is right im trying to record off my mixer and cdj's through VDJ, i have them connected through USB ports.. thats all good and i havent changed the VDJ recording setup thats still records from the MASTER off VDJ. if that makes sense. i just assumed if u set up the CDJ's to run through the mixer which is connected to VDJ and record as u normally would a mix on there without decks it would work!
I was speaking to my mate and he said that if i change it to LINE IN on VDJ recording config it should work but i tried that and still no luck.. i can cue up tracks without them playing through the master when its like this and thats what i need but yerh the recording sounds bad! i dont really know wat other info u need? I just wanna be able to record of my decks as if im playing them normally i dont u the bottom crossfader i use the inverted crossfaders the up and down ones i dont know the proper name for them sorry haha! hope this helps u help me Haha! let me know if theres anything else u need to now! if u have ur setup working just try and explain wat u have done from the start if u could that would be great. im using Version 6.0.1

If you are using an external mixer setup, you will need to run a cable from the record output of your mixer to the line input of your sound card.

If you use the MASTER option, it will record the output from both decks because VirtualDJ has no way to know which one is being output live and which one is being pre-listened to (It cannot tell the position of the crossfader, volume sliders, etc. on your mixer. This is only possible with a MIDI capable mixer.)

If you are using a sound card that does not have a line input (E.g: The built-in sound cards in the CDJ-400's), then you may need to use a 3rd party recording application such as Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net so that you can utilise the internal sound card of your computer to record with.
