Topic: VDJ 6 DAC-3 'R' button - reverse issues

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all, Having problems with the R button the dac-3. Its function of resetting the bpm is working when used with 'shift+R' but when pressed by itself it plays the song in reverse. I cannot figure out how to get it out of reverse from the controller and would prefer to have the default be to reset the bpm instead of reversing...Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can change the two actions. In this way pressing R would reset and Shift-R for reverse.

Go to your config/mapper section and select your controller. Scroll down and klick on the 'new' line.
Then press 'R' - write down the action.

Go back to the last line 'new' and press 'Shift+R'. Write down this action, too.

Now exchange both actions with the other.

That's ist.

It should stop reversing as soon as the button is released (It is mapped to 'dump' in v6, for 'bleeping' out bad language, etc.)

If not, the controller may be faulty and not sending the button released event to VirtualDJ.

Also, try disabling Performances -> Safe mode - I've come across one case before where the button didn't function properly with this on.

To swap the mappings for SHIFT and non-SHIFT around, change the mapping to:

var 'shift' ? dump while_pressed : pitch_reset
