Memory and CPU of your ?*new*? laptop is most likely your problem.

Way under-powered.

That's enough cpu, but you should really toss some more ram in there. I'm currently only using a 1.2ghz processor with the only problem being that I don't have enough cpu to both process the sound (vdj) AND record it by running my master back into the computer.

VDJ alone runs just fine on this cpu that is probably the grandfather of what most of you are using. =)

rossy......
you have to keep your pc verry clean.....if you look around in the forum you find enough for the best settings.....I also have 256 mb ram...and when i keep my pc clean it runs like hell...
no problems for me.....
look at my blog....you can read the best settings for a pc when it gives problems...

good luck...

Your tracks will load much faster after analyzing them.

If you want uncompromized performance put a gig of premium ram in your system.
Even my back up with 512 is slow to load folders.
