Hello guys!
I'm asking here if someone know have the VCI SE Ean Golden's Edition working with Virtual DJ.
As far as i known, the VCI 100 normal edition (with firmware 1.2) seems fully compatible natively, but i really don't know if the SE Ean Golden is also compatible (this version seems to have the 1.3 firmware version), so i'm afraid to get both, VDJ & VCI and get a non working system.
Any answer would be helpful! Thank you!

I can say the Vinyl Mode button on VCI-100 with 1.2 firmware with VDJ6 doesn't work. Someone solved it already?

I don't know what you mean with your statement "the button doesn't work".
I own a VCI 100 and the button works as it was designed for. Not shure if you know that, but the Scratch button is NOT a MIDI Button. It changes the way the controler reacts when using the jogs.

As i did the mapper ;-)
I can say it works perfect with the new V6 of Virtual DJ. I did a lot of extra features within the mapper so it's really 'advanced' ;-))

I agree with Heiko!
I own a VCI100 and use the mapper too.
BRILLIANT! ;-) WORK!
This crazy guy build in a shift knob to use some knobs double, like two different levels!
My next step!:
By the firmware update from ean golden and use after this, the Heiko VCI100SE Mapper ;-)
See you guys!

Here's my honest opinion about VDJ... I do think it's the best program out there (cue monitoring logic is definitely the best, I like that automatic switch of what you can hear in headphones, also visually it's the best especially with Mixlab skin), but some things are preventing me from buying it.
First of all, there is occasional freezing of the program when it continues playing, but stops responding to any commands from VCI-100 or keyboard. I used 2 different laptops, Numark DJ IO (tried newest and some older drivers), Vestax VCI-100 1.2, operating systems fully updated, BIOSes flashed, Windows XP, Windows Vista (it's far better in Vista, lower latency and better quality)... Tried every possible combination out there but I couldn't make it stable (though in Vista freezing happens really rare, but I'm still not satisfied because that can happen on the party where I play...
Secondly, I do think the price for the program is a bit high, but it's not the problem like first one...
As I'm generally very satisfied with VDJ, and I was going to buy it, hoping that version 6.0.1 doesn't freeze (didn't experienced it yet because I didn't used it that much), but still there is one more problem: VCI-100 in VDJ6 functions very differently than in VDJ5 and I got so used to VDJ5. For example set cue is beat tap?!, vinyl mode button is disfunctional (even when I try to re-map it), it just doesn't react, like I'm not pushing it... I can't fast forward and rewind tracks when not in vinyl mode like it was possible with VDJ5.
I really won't go looking for other program because I've seen them all, and only the quality of DJ Decks comes close to VDJ, so let me be constructive. If VDJ6 can be made to work with VCI-100 exactly like it was working with VDJ5, and if there's no crashes and freezings, I can promise I will buy VDJ6. So please help me setting it up if you want...
Thanks...

Hi trancephorm,
since i use V6 with my VCI100 i had only one freeze.
With the V5 i had much more ;-)
This impact is given to the Dev-Team and i'm optimistic they get it fixed.
I believe from V5 to V6 is was a big jump and the VCI100 is now much more stable.
Otherwise, to fix the problem during a gig was not really a problem.
I had only to unplug the USB connection and VDJ goes out of the freeze (Music was all the time playing)
After that, plug in the USB connection again, go to the mapper area and do a rescan for devices.
The controller is now again detected/connected to VDJ and you can go on!
Time for the doing! Less then 30sec!
I or something else couldn't give you a guarantee for haven no problems. This would be dubious!
But keep in your mind, in the most cases it is not only one thing who initate a problem ;-)
* Use full power for your USB Ports
* Use a power supply for your VCI
* Don't use a external USB Hub (In my eyes USB Hubs are a problem)
I'm more then happy with my controller and VDJ!
See you as a PRO User

[EDIT]
I belive VDJ is not cheap but also not expensive! It is a fair prize!
Remember the advantages to other softs and you are with me!
Crazy, some boys spend that much money for their equipment and then they want to save money on the core of the DJ setup, lol!
SRY ;-)

Hello,
is it possible, that VCI-100 1.0 doesn't correctly work with the advanced mapper?
Or I'm to stupid to find the shift-button?
Hmm :-/

Hmmm.... not shure because i can't test it. The Shift Button is at the left upper corner. There are 3 Buttons which light up when you press them. The first is 'loop in', second is 'loop out' and the third is the Shift Button.

How do you use the VCI-100 to trigger the sampler sounds? I can control the effects but not the sampler like I could before?
Posted Wed 12 Aug 09 @ 10:21 am
Hi,
every mapper is build with the choice of the maker ;-)
The native mapper or the mapper from Heiko for the VCI100 has no mapping to the sampler.
We use the VDJ sampler onyl by keyboard.
But if you like, you can toggle the effect buttons between Sampler and Effects.
You had only to load the VCI100 Mapper from Heiko and use the SHIFT option to use the buttons double ;-)
OK, you must do some adjustments inside the mapper, but it should work.
I ask Heiko, if he can give your post a look :-)
BTW: I use for sampler the soft of www.kueit.com
See you

You can easily change every knob to the function you like. If you have problems with it, just let us now.

Well for starters you can register you LE version, then use that to recive a discount on the PRO version. After youve done that you can just download the mapper yourself cause no one is gonna send it to you...........
Hope to see you as a Registered PRO user soon
