Hi TITO0174

We currently have 6 ICDX running on both our mobile discos and in clubs, i have had no problem with them and they do run very nicely with VDJ.

They are a very stable player with all the pro's you would expect form a pro cd player with the added feture on pc interface control.

What i like the most about them is you do not need timecode cd's to make them work and you also have a fully functional cd player in the one interface that is extreemly easy to swap to at any time. (eg pc crash or just to belt out a cd that someone hands you) No need to carry a spare player :}

In saying that it also depends what type of DJ or VJ you are, if you are a scratch dj then they may not be for you as you need to push down on the jog wheel for the scratch effect. other than that we also have cdj1000 mkIII's and i like the ICDX better for virtual dj.

I hope this helps you a bit.

Cheers

Alternatively, you could also look into the Pioneer CDJ 400

Same features as iCDX, and some more.. pluss has touch sensitive jogwheels, and included soundcard inside

Speaking from experience, as a CD player the CDJ400 full on rocks...as a midi controller the iCDX is head and shoulders above the CDJ....I have had my iCDX for two years now and they have never let me down.

Does anybody know if the icdx's have a soundcard? I mean if you just connect the RCA cables to the mixer and run virtual dj and the usb cable? Or do you need a separate soundcard for the sound setup? Also how do you connect 2 icdx' together in the setup so there is no conflict with each other? I mean do you have to hit the eject button on each deck so you select which deck each icdx is going to control or what? Thanks.

No the iCDX are not soundcards. The CDJ400s do have integral soundcards though. This is one of those issue were if the two manufacturers could take the best of both units it would be one hell of a controller....

one more question i`m still using the numark sound card from virtaul vinyl for the icdx or
i put the rca cables direct in to the mixer ???

You still need your VV interface box for the application, the fact that iCDX doesn't have a built in soundcard. Otherwise if you want to work flawlessly from HID (software controller) to CD you need to connect the iCDX RCA audio out direct to your mixer vacant channels, this set-up will give you an instant back in case something might went wrong with the software (on a very rare instances only)...

BTTT as I have a similar question. What is a good soundcard to buy for the icdx/cue setup?
